These are one of the traditional British accompaniments to roast turkey.

Makes: 10 portions

Ingredients

  • 20 rashers streaky bacon

  • 20 toothpicks

  • 10 (optional) pork chipolatas

Method

  1. One at a time, place rashers flat on a board and using the flat of a knife, flatten and spread the rashers.

  2. Roll them up and secure with toothpicks

  3. Space out in an oven-proof dish and cook in the oven at 180°C for approximately 15 minutes until browned and cooked.

  4. Drain on a paper towel.

  5. Remove toothpicks before serving as accompaniments to carved turkey meat.

  6. Optional – twist each chipolata in half then cut to create mini sausages. Wrap each in a bacon rasher and cook in the oven for approximately 20 minutes until both the sausages and bacon are coloured and cooked.
